HAVE YOU SEEN?: THE HORRORS LIVE FROM MY APT

Once upon a time, the Horrors played a show in my tiny Lower East Side apartment. Well... they played one song before the cops and fire dept showed up because someone decided to use a smoke machine and so people thought the building was on fire.

IT WAS EPIC.

Watch them performing "Jack The Ripper" right here:

HAVE YOU SEEN?: CULTS "ABDUCTED"

My favorite genre of love is Stockholm Syndrome. I love any piece of art (music, movies, literature, etc) that plays with this idea. I think that love, in a way, is the ultimate form of SS. How many unhealthy relationships have we found our friends or ourselves in... just total hostages of our own hearts holding us captive.

Cults' "Abducted" is my new favorite song on the subject. I hope you enjoy:

And ... since I love any opportunity to mention Muse, here's their video for "Stockholm Syndrome":

HAVE YOU SEEN?: SHE WANTS REVENGE "MUST BE THE ONE"

The new video for She Wants Revenge's "Must Be The One," which was directed by the band's singer Justin Warfield, features a very familiar face... recognize the mom?

It's Deborah Foreman! AKA Julie from Valley Girl!!!!!

Valley Girl is one of THE GREATEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME. If you haven't seen it, go home NOW and watch it on Netflix.

Not only does Nicolas Cage look AMAZING in the movie playing a valley punk, but the soundtrack is also INCREDIBLE:

The Valley Girl soundtrack is almost as incredible as the Romeo + Juliet soundtrack, which umm... Justin Warfield is ALSO FEATURED IN!

Remember that song "Pretty Piece of Flesh" by One Inch Punch? Justin raps on that:

Anyway, I really hope that my brother Lawrence isn't the only person who gives a fuck that Deborah Foreman is in the SWR video. The end.

HAVE YOU SEEN?: FRIENDLY FIRES "LIVE THOSE DAYS TONIGHT"

Everyone seems to be talking about Friendly Fires' appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night... mainly due to the singer's dancing. Gurj had seen them at SXSW and said he danced like me, but everyone online seems to think he dances like Elaine Benes.

And the Elaine:

When I saw them in the summer of 2009 at Le Poisson Rouge I just remember him dancing like the party came from his body. I fell in love with them because of their song "Kiss of Life."

VINTAGE COMMERCIALS

Inspired by a conversation at work with Casey and Julia regarding champagne shaped bathtubs, I decided to look up vintage commercials. Many of these will just be familiar to those living in the NYC area during the 80s, but they're still fantastic.

All you have to bring is your love of everything...

and in the center of it all...

the magic, the mystery, the memory will live forever...

at petland they care...

these prices are insane...

HAVE YOU SEEN?: LOST ALF FOOTAGE

Gawker posted footage -- taken from BadTVblog -- of ALF outtakes that someone posted on YouTube. The story is that the un-aired footage comes from a VHS tape that someone purchased on eBay about 10 years ago and finally decided to upload for everyone's shock, awe, and amusement. Basically, it features ALF dropping the N-bomb about a dozen times... which according to Gawker's comment committee, is probably an on-set joke referencing an LA LAW episode that featured a plaintiff with Tourettes. Either way, the footage had me wowed. Don't play this outloud on your computer.

Here's the footage:

And the LA Law episode footage:

HAVE YOU SEEN?: THEOPHILUS LONDON "OOPS"

NSFW! Lindsay Nipple!

Thanks to Ashley and Audrey for sending over this video which i took off of Theophilus London's blog.

Old readers of this blog might remember how I used to say stuff like "my vagina just exploded" whenever I heard a song i loved, saw a great show, or saw a cute boy ... well, this video just made my vagina explode. Holy hotness. She might have some trouble getting an acting job... but the bitch can play hot at fuck. damn.

Oh, and this song is a cover of Tweet's song "Oops." I forgot that an actual song was attached to the video.

SONG OF 2010

I hope that 2010 is defined by Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair."

Here are two videos for the song:
