For anyone that is as obsessed with LOST as I am, here's a theory i have:
We all know that mental time travel is possible, because of what Desmond has been going through. We also know that Ben gets off the island (because of his interactions with Sayid off the island). So my theory is that Ben is Ben's man on the boat.
I think that he gets captured in the future, and is able to jump through time and knows what's going on and is trying to make it all stop. He's trying to change the future, but he's probably not going to be able to.
I also think that Daniel Faraday is Jacob stuck in a time travel warp thing... he was exposed to radiation for a prolong period of time when doing those experiements with the rat.
Let's discuss.

OH SNAP!
Everyone needs to stop watching Lost immediately.
Don't you see? It's killing us!
Love,
Randomly placed Polar Bear.
So tempted to read the spoiler on who ben's man on the boat is, my theory is it is Sayid and that Ben knew all along Sayid would get on the boat via Mental travel...lost is so addictive it's ridiculous!!!!
How about this Jacob is Jack's dad and he is also stuck in time. So is the whole shack. That's why it's not always there.
maybe.

sarah! check out my blog on all things lost.. i am also obsessed www.schlost.blogspot.com
Schlost is the schlit!
Why has Jack's line about "go ask my dad" in the flash forward gone unnoticed? I think that's the sum of the entire season.
i think that the "go ask my dad" line is supposed to be used to make the viewer understand how fucked up he is.
No. His father is still alive. Remember when they found his coffin? It was empty.
It sux when you want to be surprised and shocked with things especially on a show like Lost, so they should keep that in mind when they put actors names in the opening credits basically giving away who its going to be. Let's just say that in this past weeks episode a certain actor who was previously a character on the show, name popped up in the opening credits pretty much telling me who it is that is going to be the man on Ben's boat (i'm beating around the bush for those who didn't notice and wish to be spoiler free)
I think it's Michael. The whole Walt vision got me going on it.
Big question to all here due to my crappy TV: Was the kid Kate had in the future Aaron? I couldn't clearly hear her say his name.
Oh, just checked the spoiler someone posted - I knew it was Michael!
I think the mental time travel also accounts for Charlie seeing Hurley at the hospital in the future.
Who do you think the other two 'Oceanic 6' are? We've got Jack, Kate, Hurley & Sayid so far, right?
this site has a very elaborate theory on time travel and the island

some good points but pretty wacky. i don't know how they'd ever explain what the fuck was going on if this was really what was happening.
i somehow stumbled upon your blog and just had to comment on this topic. i recently just caught up so when i was coming off the Lost-high i came up with this theory:
i strongly believe that the island deals a lot with (social) darwinism; only the strongest survive. perhaps the fact that desi and the other dude on the boat are suffering severe nose bleeds (hello butterfly effect!) because they left the place that the abundance/source of the radiation. perhaps the ones who survive are the ones who are the strongest and do not fall victim to what happens after you leave the island.
i could totally be off track, but the other day, it made so much sense.
Anyone got a theory about that Aaron thing?
