POWER GLOVE!

Check out Jenny Lewis, Fred Savage, and a boy who could've grown up to look like Jude Law.

IT'S SO BAD.

LMFAO! You know about "The Wizard," Sarah? I still have this movie on a VHS that I taped from TV from back when I was 9. It's awesome. I like how that guy kept the Power Glove in some heavy titanium case like he was transporting nuclear materials when anybody could have themselves a Power Glove of their own for like $15 at the K-Mart. At the end of the movie they have a Mario competition and that chick with the haircut is on the sidelines screaming, "Use the warp! Use the warp!" Man, what a great movie.

"I love the power glove! It's soooo bad."

I made a video man in a non-chain store sell me the VHS copy. This was in 1998.

"Made"? I'm sure it was more like, "Dude, you want that? Just, I dunno, give me a dollar or something."

i didnt have the power glove. i didnt have the track n field pad. however, the latter... no one even used their feet. everyone just banged on the pad with their hands. at least all of my reject friends did.

YES! I too saw this movie when it was in theaters...with my little brother and my Dad. I remember being so excited because it was the first time I would see Super Mario Brothers 3 in action. The game hadn't come out yet, but was featured in the film, which, if you think about it, is just one big Nintendo commercial. But yeah, great times. My college friends actually constructed a drinking game based around the movie. Excellent times.

$15 from K-Mart? Are you kidding me?

Try 89 bucks at Toys 'R Us, sucka. It cost more than a gameboy, which was brand new at the time.

No way! The Nintendo only costed $100. Maybe if you bought the Power Glove that came with the little robot you paid $85, but not for the glove alone. I don't remember it costing that much more than a regular NES controller. Plus it only worked for like 3 games. Worst purchase ever.

I don't mean to make this a total nerd-out forum, but that kid is wrong -- the power glove was at least 80 dollars when it first came out. Way more than a regular controller.

And look how much older Jenny looks than Fred Savage. I find it kinda creepy.

robot mark.

Okay, you're probably right and I'm probably wrong. I'm just guessing. That's kinda embarrassing to think that my parents spent $85 on a Power Glove for me. Jeez, just say no, you know?

OT?
how was stellastarr* and the YYY's?

Wasn't a young Christian Slater the brother of Fred Savage in that movie?

Hey 4:36 Anon- the summerstage show was WET! YYY’s were spectacular as always with Karen O. doing her infamous acrobatics onstage. She had a rain poncho tied around her waist as a skirt and announced to the crowd, “This is going to be our last show for a really long time.” Huh?

I missed most of the Stellastarr* set and Devo sounded as good as they did in the 80’s. And wow, POWERGLOVE. I haven’t thought of this thing since well, the 80’s.

I demand that all future posts include at least one reference to the powerglove.

If my demands are not met, I will include my own reference in the comments section.

Thank You
