Mr. and Mrs. Federline broke momma Spears' heart and got surpise nuptuals. Check it out at steregum.

As I was walking my dog to my mom's car she had another, worse, seizure. We brought her to the Animal Medical Center on the upper east side and after a few tests, they couldn't find anything wrong with her. She still needs to get her heart examined and her brain checked since she could have a problem in both those areas. She's really old, so i guess that if she did have problems there, it's a bit hard to fix. I love that little one so much. More than I could ever express.

My (shouldn't say my 'cause she really belonged to my ex, but I have partial custody, I guess you could say) shih tzu, Madison or Maddie, whichever you prefer, had a seizure like that one time, coupled with uncontrollable diarrhea. This was the Sunday after Thanksgiving so we had to go to the emergency vet. They had her on life support for two days. One of the scariest experiences I've ever had. Vet said she had "toxic shock" or something like that, kind of an extreme, all-of-a-sudden food poisoning. We think she got it from her dog bones. Maddie won't chew the little shih tzu-size dog bones, we have to buy her the Rottweiler-size bones that she can barely lift. She would chew the same bone for months at a time. And you should see the bone come month two. Ewww. Anyways, we think that's what did it. That was probably two years ago. Maddie's fine now. (But after the $1500 bill, my credit has yet to recover.)

Posting this just to say I feel your pain and hope everything is alright. I'm sure it will be.

It's hard. My dog is 14 and a half years old. I got him when he was 9 weeks old. As they get older, we have to start thinking of the inevitable - and I'm not ready to go there, I love him so much. I hope your doggie recovers and lives a long happy life.

Hey Sarah,
I also have a 14yr old shih tzu, so I can definately understand how hard it is when they get sick! My dog(CoCo)had a seizure about a year ago out of nowhere and once we took him to an emergency vet they came to the conclusion that it was caused from a severe ear infection that he had. The vet said that when they get to an old age you have to take really good care of their ears b/c they can become infected very easily and once that happens it messes up their balances from the brain or something like that. We keep an eye on it and it hasn't happened since. Maybe that can be part of what happened to your doggie. I really hope everything turns out okay and we hear some good news about him soon!

I'm so sorry about your little dog. That must be so upsetting to see. I hope everything works out for you.
