KAREN COINED: EMORBID SLANG

(the above photo was taken from monkeycat... yes, monkeycat)

I'm honored that New York Magazine named me one of the most influencial new yorkers, but that hasn't taken the pressure to get married off me from my father:
"I am proud of you, I wish you luck and happiness in everything you do.
Mom and I always feet that you are on the right track, doing the right things and maintaining the high standard expected from you.
Keep up the good work and continue making us happy and proud .

Dad

(FIND A HUSBAND ALREADY)"

Hahahahah. Amazing. I'm happy I finally made him proud! He may have to wait for the husband bit tho.

I haven't givent a really great diary-like entry in a while, so I'm gonna start that again i think cause my brain has the worst memory and over the weekend karen IMed me to say she just looked at a bunch of photos in a photo album and said "we've got a great life." She's right. I'm happy for every day of my life.... but i can never remember shit.

Friday night I met up with Brandon in the West Village. We went walking around and looking at puppies in the pet shops. There was still the male Brussells Griffon at Puppies and Parrots on Christopher Street and I nearly started crying as i saw it spooning with a little boston terrier. Seeing all those little puppies is hard. I miss my departed Maxine and cry almost every day about her. Everyone in my family does. She was the little sister, the daughter, the baby. I just stare at those little shih-tzu's in the store and want to start things all over again. Brandon had to drag me out of the store by the hand as i looked back teary. But I know that the right thing to do is to get a dog from a shelter if I'm ever REALLY ready for a dog.

We skipped out on seeing Art School Confidential and met up with Joe and Jenne at the Lion's Den to see Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad. As you might imagine, when it comes to reggea, i'm not really the genre's #1 fan. Suuuuuuure, Matisyahu is cool and a crazy hasid and I can kinda appreciate that. But when it comes to hearing bands that about 100 crazy hippies who do that hippy dance know, I don't know what's good technically, but i can tell you what i like, and I liked them.

I was exhausted after the show that Brandon and I just went back to 3A. I'm so tired these days. Late nights seem like a distant memory to me.

Saturday was a gorgeous day for a memorial. Since a lot of Ben Chappel's friends couldn't make it down for his funeral last month, his friends decided to throw a little mid-day tribute to him at Hanger bar, a bar owned by his good friends Betsy and Natalka. Inside the bar and hanging outside were all his friends who came to celebrate the life of their friend. The walls were lined with photos of him ranging from him as a wee one in the bath tub with his sister, to all the other women in his life and Jeff Tweedy. It was a lovely tribute.

I then hopped in a cab and made my way to Bamboozle just in time to see Permanent Me, who are just blowing my mind these days. Them now, compared the them when I first saw them play is like night and day. They exude confidence and write amazing pop songs that would make Rivers Cuomo jealous. My good friend Rob Hitt is putting out their EP on i Surrender (their LP will be out on ST later this year), and the EP was selling like hot motherfucking cakes. You can see them on the road with Cartel starting tomorrow. Do it. Trust. And buy their EP here at Smartpunk.

Unfortunately, because of the memorial, I missed Monty. Missing a Monty show is like knowing that you could have a massive vat of the best ice cream and getting to it by the time it melts. The best thing about the bands on my label is that they're really good. I like that about them. Haha.

At around 1:30 am, Karen came over to 3A to meet up with me, Brandon and Brian. We had a quickie drink of pink wine and went over to Misshapes where we stood in the corner and sexually harassed everyone around us. Petey Wentz was there. He's cute. He's no wiL aideN tho, and that's why we went (well, for wiL and Leslie's DJ set, of course). at about 3:30 we all left. I think.

Sunday I returned to Bampoodle with Brandon and we were greeted with the rumors that an older man had tragically passed away during Fallout Boy's set. The concept is completely terrible when you imagine that he was probably there with his kids and trying to have a great time with them. So sad. I hope it's not true.

I spent most of the time with my friend brooke drinking beers and trying to pretend that I'm a 20 year old just like she is. Getting around Bamboozle when you're my age is hard, I dont know how kareN, jennY, gurJ, norA, and briaN did it. Oh wait, yes I do. They got around so much because they were stalking wiL from Aiden! Everyone one of those shits chickened out in getting a photo with him DESPITE being about 3 feet from him constantly. When gurJ, brookE, and myselF made it to the catering to eat, i spotted wiL in the emorbid flesh eating while wearing red makeup. I was stoked out of my fucking face, but lacking a camera, so I let him eat and just got over excited. Brandon and Ryan met up with us and couldn't believe how in a matter of 3 days we had turned wiL into a hipster icon. ironic or not, he quickly became the most anticipated band dude to possibly decend upon Misshapes... Anyway, I think that after Gurj's report from the Panic! at the Disco show, she's moved her obsession from wiL to Brendan, the fallen morman.

We came home after Bamboozle, leaving the Bam and the booze behind us. I was exhuasted, but stayed up til 2am watching the Wilco movie "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart."

By the way, last night I was taking the subway listening to my iPod on shuffle when a pretty and gentle female voice appeared in my head singing "you broke my heart" over and over again like a little angel. I looked at my iPod and found the name Lavender Diamond scrolling across my screen. You know when you're feeling a certain way: happy, in love, heart broken, sad... something about a piece of music can move you to tears? This was one of those moments. I don't know how the EP found it's way into my iPod, but I sure am glad it did.

Oh, and this photo makes me happy... check out the t-shirt Jessica is wearing!

She loves ST music!

Anyone else have a picture of them wearing this shirt??? send to me!

Thank you Julie Pietrangelo for this link to Daily Puppy.
Which led me to this link to Pandavix.

PUTTING THE LINKAGE TO SOME USE

Hello new readers.

This is Buddy:

Buddy is the adorable mascot of a fantastic blog called CityRag. He was saved from an animal shelter that is on it's way to losing it's funds and closing down. As an animal lover, this killed me (you have to see Alex's immitation of me looking at photos of dogs online that need rescuing... he even manages to look like he's crying like i do!).

Go to this link on CityRag and donate. $2, $10, $100... anything will probably help these people out.

Thanks!
WHY DONT YOU DO SOMETHIN?

The nerds I get to totally fucking nerd out with about music hit me up this weekend to let me know that Muse's first single "Supermassive Black Hole" leaked onto limewire. Super music nerd fans are usually the biggest, gayest, geekiest flock of muse fans. Especially emo dudes. Can someone explain to me why so many dudes in emo bands would get down on their knees and suck Matt's dong at a drop of a hat? Not that i dont think he's a fucking genius, but it's all a very hilarious phenomenon.

Anyway, I think "supermassive black hole" sounds like Britney Spears' "Do Somethin'" ...

Click here to decide for yourself.

EDIT: OMG it looks like someone else heard the similarity and mashed the two songs together!!! LISTEN HERE to the supermassive black dong

YOU'RE SO EMO

no. you are.

OK, if you've ever seen the Tarts of Pleasure DJ, or wish you have... vote for us by clicking here.

There's a band playing annex tonight (may 4) for Stolen transmission. They have to be unannounced cause they're going on tour with AFI soon, and their name isn't Dillinger Escape Plan and the singer lives in my apt. They go on at 12:30. Free. 152 Orchard St (btw Stanton and Rivington).

Please add Leslie Simon to your myspace. She's an editor at Alternative Press and one of the coolest girls out there. She invented emo. true story. Then go see her DJ on saturday with a bunch of emo bands at misshapes. emo. emo. emo. Dudes from AFI, Thursday, Men Women and Children, and she told Gurj that she'd bring wiL Aiden.

What else is going on????

hmm... Young Love's single is going on sale soon. I wanna do a release party at Stolen Transmission since he is our number one fan. Yippee!

see you at bamboozle?

NERDS ONLY POST

For those who like watching LOST (and have dreams about it like me), you gotta check out this message board thread. Apparently, in the UK (where they're just beginning season 2), they ran a commercial for the Hanso Foundation that was supposed to appear to be just a regular TV ad. If you were sharp, you caught the number (0800 66 66 40), and called it. Well, just go to the message board to see what happens when you call, or try for yourself (for those dialing from the us: 011-44-800-66-66-40). i hit option #5 and got goosebumps. At least there are some clues about where they are and why.

I'm so excited for tonight's episode that I actually had a dream inspired by Lost. I was on the island with everyone on the show, and oddly enough, Matt Rubano. A few of the women decided to make rafts to see how far they could paddle out and swim back. Meanwhile, a bunch of us found a hut on the island and i found a little dog (yay), but i was scared of it (boo). Dakota from Life With an Astronaut showed up and he and Matt found guitars and started playing "bloody up your dress" from the band the Medics, which was beyond trippy and surreal. Then Matt tried to kiss me. When I told him i had a boyfriend he said "you wont be seeing him anytime soon." Way to go Matt. Scamming in my dreams. Needless to say, i stayed loyal to my mizz-an.

Also, this might rule your life a bit:
WE DREAM OF COMMON SENSE

Incase you were really anxious to hear new Bright Light Fever music, you are in luck. And if you haven't ever heard BLF before, this might make your undies a bit stokies:

If you're in the Sacramento area, you need to go see them live. Seriously.

YOU'VE LOST THAT LOVING FEELING

Recently I've been listening to a lot of Lee Hazelwood. Ever since listening to Lee and Nancy Sinatra's "Some Velvet Morning" -- which Lee wrote, but i found out about the track because of the Primal Scream cover -- I've found myself completely drawn to his voice. It's probably the voice that Ian McCulloch based his own impeccable voice, and maybe one of the most gorgeous male voices aruond. It's thick like molassas and passionate like a panther. I highly recommend you download "Some Velvet Morning" from iTunes, especially if you're even remotely an Echo & the Bunnymen fan.

Yesterday I came home and cut my hair with a razor along side Gurj. I was going for a sort of Natalie Imbruglia circa "Torn" hair-did, and I think I may have actually come close to accomplishing that. I'm impressed. Something I wish I had when I was in high school that would've made me infinitely happier is a fucking hair straightener. My hair straightener is my most loved styling apparatus. It's just a cheap revlon hair straightener, but it works wonders and no matter what haircut i have, it makes it look way better.

After doing this I went with Karen to see Cold War Kids at Pianos. They're playing there again tonight and tomorrow night, and I really recommend them. They're a four piece from LA that sound like an old Black soul band from the south circa-a long time ago. I think someone was actually playing a beer bottle at one point. Anyway, go to their myspace page and check them out. I really enjoyed the show and it was the first showcase I've been to in a while and loved. Also, Shandi from America's Next Top Model DJs at Pianos on monday... 80s music. Sounded pretty decent. I wanna find all the Top Models that moved to NYC and have them DJ the annex one thursday. If you're one of those girls, please email me: sarahlewitinn@gmail.com

After Pianos, Karen and I came back to mine so i could give her my old laptop that I bought a couple years ago off craigslist that smells like B.O.. It's seriously offensive. Everytime I open it, people are like "omg, is your laptop sweating? how does it smell like B.O?" It works ok, and has a massive hard drive of 10 gigs (WOW!). We sat around discussing Aiden. Not even their music as much as how much the singer of Aiden looks like Carlos D.

(in other words... how is Jenny Penny NOT OBSESSED with them?)

Tonight I'm going with the above mentioned Penny of Jenny to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at Hammerstein... then maybe Thursday at Irving... then maybe Dita Von Tiesse with Trent, the most famous Mexican in all of blogland.

Oh, I really hate having "secret" shows at the Annex, and I'm really sorry to do this, but a lot of times our friends wanna play Stolen Transmission but they can't announce it because they have another show in the city in the near future and contracts say "no advertised show" and shit like that. Even when they're your roommate...

So, with that, Karen's former roommate and one of the current residents of Apartment 3a (so you know, the people that live in 3a are: josh madden, gurj bassi, me, brandon reilly) is in a band. His (or her) band is going on tour very soon with a band that's not Aiden, but wears make-up. I may have put out this band's single.

BAND I CANT ANNOUNCE
At Stolen Transmission
Thursday, May 4.
The Annex (152 Orchard st. btw Stanton & Rivington)
12ish.
FREE SHOW
21 +

Also, I got great news: I managed to convince Young Love (aka Dan Keyes) to let me release a single on Stolen Transmission! Only 250 of them. There are 3 songs: "Tragedy", "We Want Drugs", and "Find A New Way (demo)". i'm gonna put them on sale on monday i think. I'm stoked out of my face. The singles are covered in glow-in-the-dark sand and mirrors.

Hopefully, i'll be able to put the Saints + Lovers single for sale too! Had a bit of an issue with the master recording (ie: it's gone missing), so i need to buy a new one. Kids, get organized or it may cost you. The single includes a cover of Joy Division's "Atmosphere" that will blow your mind and the CD sleevs are hand painted works of art created by the genius Jordana the Intern.

umm... I think that's it for now.

I love you?

SUPER OLD MCR VID!

GO HERE TO SEE IT: Stolen Transmission

I was going through some of my cds at home and I found this awesome piece of fun in one of my cd spools. I know that this technically has nothing to do with Stolen Transmission, BUT it kinda does. MCR and ST go way back... This video was taken for me by my friend Chris Kelly at one of MCR's first shows at an American Legion Hall in Cresskill, NJ. This was back when I was working with the band (which is why you'll find my name and old phone number at the end) back in maybe january or february 2002, just when Frankie had joined the band. Apart from that history, Mikey is a regular at the Stolen Transmission party... so it's fitting. Anyway, enjoy. xo sarah lewitinn

A SHIT TON OF STUFFS

Go to the Stolen Transmission website to hear the Oohlas newest song and a video that they made for it using footage from their trip to New York. The song is called "Tripped" and it's one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life. Before you sue me for hyperbole, you need to hear the song, and then you'll be like "you know, sarah, you're right."

OK, so possibly one of the best stories i'll ever tell (which is remarkable, cause i'm known in most circles as one of America's worst story tellers):

I took monday off after working 8 consecutive days from the morning til 2am every day mixing the oohlas record. So for brunch I went with Brandon to La Palapa (you must, must, must try their Huevos Rancheros Verdes asap), and then we went to St. Marks cause for whatever reason, I thought it'd be a good idea to get my nose pierced.

So we're walking home and crossing Houston when a car cuts us off and honks at us. So naturally, Brandon gave the driver the finger and the car pulled aside. I look inside and then realize that my mom was the one driving! I had no clue that Brandon gave her the finger so I turn to him and go "OH MY GOD! IT'S MY MOM! This is perfect! Now you can finally meet her!" So we walk over to the car, my mom rolls down the window and says to Brandon "I saw what you did!" in a playful voice. He basically throws himself into the car through the window to give her a hug and apologize. I turn to him and say "huh? what did you do?" he explained and i doubled over laughing. Meanwhile, my mom really didn't care at all. She was more concerned about my nose ring, which she hated. "You're not 17 or 18! that looks ridiculous! take it out!" I was too busy laughing at Brandon to care what she thought. What's amazing is that he'd been so concerned about meeting my mom and making the perfect first impression, and this was it. She said "this is the perfect way to meet. no set up. totally natural."

Well, at least she thought he was cute.

HELLO

This is what will happen in a 24 hour span of my life, starting from last night at 10pm.

- 10pm - Sat at the Shed studio where the Oohlas record was getting mixed and listend to 11 of 12 finished songs. Blew my mind. This record is seriously on another level, I can't even begin to explain how amazing it is. I actually said "this record is going to make people eat their own cum." Yeah... classy. But in all seriousness, I had an idea that this record was going to be amazing, but I had NO idea it was going to be this intensely incredible. Plus, this is my first ever completed record (save for the mastering part). Next up is Bright Light Fever, which will fucking flip me out as well. Anyway, i'm really proud.

- 11:30pm - went home to get dressed and pick up my music for djing at misshapes.

- 1am - Arrive at Misshapes. Say hi to some people before getting my shit set up to DJ. Get told by Leigh "Axl Rose is coming here. He's going to be sitting over there. PLAY ALL THE HITS."

- 1:30am - I'm busting out my greatest hits collection and decide to throw in some George Michael's "Freedom 90." I turn to my left and see Axl on his feet singing along at the top of his lungs. Sean Dak comes over and points out Axl as well. Me, him, and Jackson kinda freak out.

- 1:50am - DJ Jess, the next DJ, comes up to me and says that he heard that Axl is digging my set. My mind is blown.

- 2:15am - Jump into a cab and head back to the studio to hear the final mix of "The Rapid." I'm greeted at the elevator by Greg Oohlas who rushes me to the mixing board to listen as it's printing. Perfect timing. I lay my head at the deck and start tearing.

- 3am - Head back to the apt with the oohlas and gurjy wurgy. Sorta freak out over the recrod. Go right to sleep cause i'm so drizzunk.

- 11:30am - wake up and take a shower. order breakfast. Spend some QT with the Oohlas before they leave.

- 2pm - Brandon arrives back home. I run downstairs to help him bring his luggage up to our apt. When we get back to the elevator on our floor, the Oohlas are standing there to greet Brandon, say good bye to us, and fly home.

- 3pm - Brandon and I play with Bella, the cat for a few hours and eat lunch.

- later tonight - we're going to Sin-e To see a secret BRAND NEW SHOW!!!! I'm so excited, I can't even tell you.

OK, more to come later. I'm stoked on life right now, you have no idea.

THIS REMINDS ME

I'm DJing Misshapes on saturday, i think.

TONIGHT

Nick Snow made this flyer for me. Duh.

Wednesday, April 19, 2006

HOLY SHIT

Imagine my surprise when i read the byline of this article about TomKat!

Yes, that's my other brother, Albert. The oldest of the bunch, with whom I lived with for about 2 years on and off on his couch on the Upper West Side (you should've seen me walk into his posh building every night at 4am with makeup smeared all over my face and an outfit that probably made the doormen giggle). I had NO CLUE that he writes for CNN.com, did you, Lawrence?

Here's a photo of me and my brothers, Albert and Lawrence.
LOLOCUAST!

Holy fucking shit of cats in a blanket.

Bright Light Fever have a new video on their website that's fucking hysterical.
OOOOOOH! I WANT THIS!!!

Look at that baby! I want that baby now! OMG, i've never felt my ovaries ache so badly until this very moment. Brandon, i hope you're reading this cause uh... "i think it's time that you should know...". (EDIT: new NOY video for "The Days Go By Oh So Slow")

That photo comes from Nick Snow's friend, Emily Driskill, whom at 20 years old, is a fucking remarkable rock photographer. I'm going to make all the ST bands holla at her when they're in Texas. Holy Moses.

OMFG

I appreciate all my interns more than they'll ever know because they fucking rock more than any other interns on this earth. They're specially selected after numerous tests on many things and after several recommendations from various psychics (one of those psychics being me).

I just want to take this chance to focus a bit on Nick Snow (don't worry Sasha, Jordana, and Jackson, you will get your chance too, but right now, it's Nick).

Nick Snow is the funniest motherfucker I've ever met. There isn't one day when he hasn't thrown either me, alex, or gurj in to a fit on convulsions. I've had friends THANK ME for introducing them to him. I've had nights when I thought I couldn't smile end in nights where I found myself in tears of hysterical laughter thanks to him.

If you're smart, you will either befriend him, girlfriend him, or hire him to do whatever it is that he thinks you should hire him to do.

The end.
FOR REAL FOR REAL... WORD

I know that I've pimped this party before, but I'm serious. It's one of the coolest parties I've been to in NYC. It's totally different than anything else I've ever been. That's why I'm helping promote it. I really, really, really suggest you go.

MONKEY PEOPLE

Men, Women and Children everywhere will love the Men, Women & Children video... which I think the singer, TJ, came up with the concept for.

See It Here. I'm so stoked on that video.

Another video i'm stoked on is Taking Back Sunday's "Make Damn Sure."

Are there any budding video directors here? I think we might do a contest at Stolen Transmission with music videos, but that's still in the works... HOWEVER, never hesitate to make some videos for our bands. Macs are awesome for that. You can put them up on youtube.com and email me the link at sarah.lewitinn@umusic.com ... i'll post them here and on stolentransmission.com and shit. I'm a big fan of those emo stick figure videos, hint hint.

LOL @ that MW&C photo! Nice accessories boys!

NEW STOLEN TRANSMISSION MESSAGE BOARD

My hot canadian friend Justin from SceneSpin set up a fucking great message board for Stolen Transmission since the one that we're currently using blows massive donkey dicks.

Please start posting and have fun and be cheeky. Make friends and enemies. Talk about music. Find some young love and shit like that.

RIGHT HERE

Thank you!
SORRY BOY

My apologies to my boyfriend because not only did I suddenly decide to attempt to eat as much as humanly possible (seriously, i'm eating when I'm not even hungry, just cause) and will probably be twice the size of the girl you left at home before tour, but I'm going to be sharing a bed with this bombshell for a week:

Ollie Stone. Ollie of the Oohlas. Olivia. Olive juice.
Me + Her - You = word.

Wanna see more photos of her and the two other men of the Oohlas that I'll be sharing a room with for a week? Here are Ollie, Mark, and Greg:
PHOTOS
THESE TRAVELS

I'm leaving for Sacramento today for the day. 24 hours. I'm going to the Casa De Bright Light Fever to hear a new track or two and the songs that they're recording for their debut record on Stolen Transmission. For anyone that likes the band The Bronx, you'll be excited to find out that Joby Ford from the Bronx is producing it. I'm sure I've mentioned this before. I have a tendancey to repeat myself. It even annoys me.

Speaking of things on my label, if any of you are in Hamden, CT this friday, GO SEE PERMANENT ME AND MONTY AT THE SPACE!

Go. Seriously. Run. Hurry.

Also, did anyone see American Idol this weekend? I missed it and finally looked at the website and saw that Mandisa was kicked off. Whoa. How did the judges react to this? Someone please tell me!

THE FIRST TRANSMISSION

Monty finished recording their debut album for Stolen Transmission and turned it in today. I took a poop on it.

Just kidding, I punch my stereo speakers and threw them at my intern's head and said "YOU TRY MAKING A RECORD AS GOOD AS THIS! NOW GO GET ME SOME FUCKING COFFEE!!!!"

You can watch the video they made in honor of the end of the recording of the album with Matt Squire (panic! at the disco). It's so fucking sweet and cute, it's disturbing.

Watch it here.

Hey Ollie, I have a really important question for you that I'm going to publically ask you on my blog: You're going out the front door, not the back door, but haven't you ever heard of closing a Goddamn door?

And Gurj, I want you to show me a little bit of spark you've been saving for your bed post.

(two people will think that's funny: gurj and ollie).

TART BRUT

My Brother Lawrence helps me prove the neopotism isn't dead by performing a guest DJ spot tonight at STOLEN TRANSMISSION at The Annex (153 Orchard btw Rivington and Stanton... lower east side).

Joining him will be every hipster's favorite band ART BRUT!!! If you want to hear the song "we formed a band" you just might hear it from stage rather than the dj booth... at about 1am. hint. hint.

FROM NOW ON

Brad Walsh is my new favorite party photographer.

I'm hopped up on allergy meds... i would write more but my brain is not working.
WAR GAMES

Gideon Yago had been MIA from my life for about a year or 3 cause everytime I called him he was like "I'm going to Iraq tomorrow night, I can't hang," or "I'm going down to New Orleans to help with relief efforts," or "Please tell Dan I can't make it to his wedding tonight... I'm scheduled to interview the President." You know, normal shit like that.

Anyway, just like the rest of us, Gideon now has a Flickr account filled with photos from his travels. From a truckload of young eyeliner clad afghani boys, to a friend immitating Nicole Richie, there are tons of gorgeous photos up there that I suggest you check out.

ACROSS THE STARS

I just updated the news section of the Stolen Transmission website. Please go check it out.

While on the topic of Stolen Transmission... If any of you got an i<3Music T-shirt from the SXSW party, please take a photo of yourself wearing it and send it to me.

And, if you go to any of our band's myspace pages (The Oohlas, Permanent Me, Monty, Bright Light Fever), you'll notice that you can listen to AND add their songs to your myspace page. If you add their song to your myspace page, send me an email with your address and my space address so i can send you a super special Stolen Transmission goodie bag.

HEARTS ARE LIGHT

Someone new that I've met that I really enjoy the company of, is Nightmare of You's guitar tech, Big Brother Mike (or Hot Mike as brandon and i call him). This is BBM:

Now, apart from looking like the twin of my friend Patrick from Youth Group, he also rules because he's just as obsessed with Lost as Brandon and I are... which is to say a lot (so much so, that it's infiltrated our dreams). Also, Mike is an amazing photographer who entertained us all with slide shows of his photography from the current NOY tour and tours he's been on with other bands. He spent ages on the road with the Get Up Kids and combined a bunch of photos from a tour to make a little video that's actually really fucking cool. I asked BBM to post it on YouTube so i could share it. He did.

Also, Sasha the Intern sent me a link to an RPG blog about me... There are a few of those that I sometimes peek at (well, attempt to, but i can't really since they never accept my friendship on those things so i can't read the "friend only" blogs that are about my life... kinda ironic)... This one is like the Passions version of my life. Apparently I was dating Josh Madden and then cheated on him with Gurj. I'm also the mother of Josh's baby... and he left me when I cheated on him with Gurj... Gurj and I also broke up. No word yet on where/when/if Brandon fits into the equation, but apparently he's dating Michelle Nolan of Straylight Run on all these RPGs. So I'm dating Josh all over the internet and Brandon's dating Michelle all over the internet, and Gurj is a little homewrecker. Fucking amazing.

If anyone reading this is role-playing me, will you accept me as a friend so i can keep tabs on my fake life???
NEVER EVER

It never gets easier dealing with death. You run out of tears after a while, but it never becomes easy. Especially when its one of your friends. There's shock and denial. You tell yourself that it's a temporary thing. You call your friend and leave him a voice mail telling him that you miss him and want to see him soon. You pace outside the last apartment you knew he lived in, hoping to catch him on his way out. And then it hits.

For me, it hit when I was in Brandon's tour van driving from Philly to DC. We passed Ben's home-city, Baltimore, on the way and that's when the tears started welling up. I focused my eyes on the ceiling, quietly telling myself what happened, as if I had been on an emotional leave, and eventually burying my hysterical face in my boyfriend's chest as he tries to console me.

The next day I boarded a train from DC to Baltimore to attend the funeral of my friend Ben. And all I can remember is him wrapping his arms around me and kissing every inch of my body in the most loving and playful way possible. All I can remember is him padding around my apartment fixing things as I proudly called him the apartment 3a houseboy. All I can remember is the squintiness of his eyes and the curves of his mouth.

A lot of people knew Ben Chappel. A lot more women knew him than anyone could ever imagine. He was enigmatic and charming. Sometimes confusing. Always painfully smart.

I never want to bury a friend again. I never want to say goodbye forever, again. Not this young. I'm so sorry, Ben. I'm so sorry.

LOVE, BEN

Don't put things off. Don't. Not seeing people you love, even if it hurts to see them.

I miss you. I miss you. I shouldn't have missed you.

LET'S GO STEADY

You know, I realized that I never plugged my dear friend, Marc Spitz's book, TOO MUCH TOO LATE
.

I read it a couple of months ago and LOVED it... a few of my friends (even those that don't like marc) read it and loved it...

Here's a breif description that Amazon.com posted about the book:
From Booklist
Ace teenage trend-spotter Natalie "Motorrrju" Levine waxes enthusiastic about her boyfriend's father's band, the Jane Ashers, in her super-popular blog, and within the space of days, the aging rockers find out that that one of their old songs, "Let's Go Steady, Debbie," has become the most commonly bootlegged MP3 file on the Internet. They land a recording contract and a tour date and soon find themselves staring down the same demons that broke up their band in the first place. Veteran hardware-store employee and ace songwriter Harry Vance attempts to treat his writer's block with massive amounts of drugs and alcohol and keeps forgetting to call his wife. Drummer Sandy Klein, the novel's narrator and an unapologetic stoner, is so busy enjoying the perks of being in a wildly successful rock band that he forgets to keep his eye on his emotionally fragile bandmate, handing off the chore to the tour manager. Music journalist and novelist Spitz (How Soon Is Never? 2003) gets a lot of mileage out of his one-note premise in a fast and funny read. Joanne Wilkinson

I LIKE IT THAT WAY

I was going to start this blog off with a rant about how I am having less and less amounts of fun at parties these days and wondered if it was because I'm growing older or possibly because I'm settling down in a relationship with someone who doesn't like to party, when I found this photo on Gurj's amazingly awesome SXSW-Recap:

I guess I need to be in the mood to party, and with the right people, and unless those elements are in place, I'm miserable. And from the looks of the photo above, all those elements were in place at the PureVolume Party at SXSW.

I went to some parties this weekend in Miami. That's all. I can't really write more on the topic.

What I can write about is my parent's condo in Hallendale, FL. It's super desolated in comparison to south beach. Me and my friends found ourselves hiking about 5 miles each way to find food, and we enjoyed every moment of it. I actually took a long walk on the beach. I took so many long walks that my hips hurt.

I'm happy to be home.

Oh, and you know how I'm always going on and on about Dan Keyes, former Recover singer? Well, good news: he has a band name. He is now YOUNG LOVE

And you can finally hear Young Love on MySpace... they're demos, but they're great. And incase you want to look at him, here's a photo of his awesomeness:

NOTE TO SELF:

... Stop forgetting that you really dislike partying in Miami.

There have been very few times when I've had fun partying in MIA, and usually they involved Joshua M from Revolver. This year, however, there wasn't much salvaging the time.

I did hang out with She Wants Revenge and put things behind us. That was nice.

I did go for 6 mile long walks with some of my favorite boys... long walks along the beach became less of a Personal Ad, and more of a Personal Reality.

Anyway, some crazy things have been happening...

So last week I made a "joke" that the Animal Collective sounded like "a bunch of retards clapping." OK, Ok, i know it's really uncool for me to make fun of the mentally challenged... go ahead and make jokes saying i'm a retard... you're gonna miss the point.

So I made that joke and felt really bad about it, and in order to make me feel better, Brandon said he was gonna start a band called "Retards Have No Rhythm." (for the record, he is a very sensitive person... would never make fun of ANYONE... he was just trying to lift my spirits about my poor description abilities). We joked about the band name, and didn't think more of it.

Then a day later he calls me up to tell me about this really intersting person he met on the road. Apparently the man used to be in the Army where he would jump out of helicopters while high on Acid. Now, he's not in the army anymore and just teaches 5-year-old down syndrome kids how to play drums. When He told me that last bit, my heart and mind started racing. It all seemed so oddly coincedental.

This afternoon I was checking myspace and seeing who requested me as their friend. I did a breif overview and spotted a familliar name. It caused me to write the person this following email:

From: ultragrrrl
Date: Mar 27, 2006 9:11 AM

this is going to sound really dark, and i'm sorry if it bums you out, but whe I was 8 years old, a good friend of mine died of brain cancer, and she had the same name as you.

about 10 years ago i went to a seance and the psychic told me that i had a guardian angel. described jenny, and i was floored.

anyway, you asked me to be your myspace friend, and part of me wonders if that is a sign.

-sarah

and her response went as following... brace yourself:

Date: Mar 27, 2006 12:29 PM
Subject: RE: hi
Body: weirder still is that my sister died of brain cancer in october.

Does anyone know anything about this sort of thing? Like the constant occurances of coincedence? I feel like I'm on LOST.

Oh, I forgot to add... the other night I went to dinner with a ton of friends. When the bill came, someone grabbed it (before reading it... while it was in the black folder) and said "OK, how much do you think it is?"
I blurted out "$380."
The guy looked at the bill and put it down in disbelief... I was off by $8. The bill was $388.

I've been telling Brandon lately that I'm psychic, and he plays along and tells people the same thing, but i think we're both starting to see something weird happening around us.

IT'S PINK IN MY WORLD

A cat is moving in. I'm allergic to cats (but not insanely allergic to this one, like i usually am). Does anyone have any allergy medicine to recommend? I don't have health insurance, so something over the counter would be ideal.

thanks!
THIS IS ME

THIS IS HOW WE DO IT

Right. So now that everyone is recovered from SXSW, Stolen Transmission is back to screw everyone over...

You also have to target="_blank">watch this immediately. Via Gorilla Mask.

And if you're in Miami over the weekend, which is where I will be debating on which Brandon I want to see sing (Flowers Vs. Reilly... the battle of the ages), there will be a fucking party that the Misshapes are throwing. Holla!

I LOVE HAVING DVR

I get to watch all the episodes of "American Idol" and "Americas Next Top Model" !!!! Fuck yeah. woooooo! I heart Ace Young. He's so pretty. He's sooo cheesy too. But I don't really give a fuck. He's got that sort of George Michael/Pop Idol elements to him. When I say Pop Idol, i mean the british version of this show... it seems like all the winners are like this dude. I also found out that I really love the bald dude, and my friend Amy totally called it by saying that the gray haired dude is the most real thing on reality tv.

I just came home from DJing at Rothko with the Cinematics and Boy Kill Boy. Dude, the Cinematics were off the mother fucking chain. Seeing them reminded me of seeing Franz Ferdinand at Pianos a few years ago and running off to meet up with friends at the Library and telling them that Franz reminded me of APB, and breaking out into "Shoot You Down."

Anyway, the point is that the Cinematics are really fucking great. The singer is kinda geeky and awkward when he's not singing in between songs, but once he starts up, it's like this fucking star is born. I think they said it was their last show in the US this time. Catch them next time, or if you live in England, see them soon.

I promised i'd write about SXSW... and you're all gonna get disappointed... So I got there wednesday night and chilled out in my room watching Idol. After eating room service I went to the Convention Center to pick up my pass and ran into Hot Robbie and his awesome roommate Piper from boyskout and two of robbies friends. we all went to the Blender party where Tapes'n'Tapes, Spoon, and one of my all time favorite bands, Echo and the Bunnymen, were playing. Tapes'n'Tapes were really fantastic, fun, and more libertines than I expected. Seems like Spoon were good, but I wasn't paying attention. And got totally fucking stoked to see Echo & the Bunnymen... until they played. Man, it felt like they were just phoning it in. They were playing for 400 drunk dudes, fratting it up, under tons of light (i want to see only a silohuette of Mac), and at 3am.

The next morning Brandon arrived so I hung out with him during the day, and then went to the Pure Volume party in the evening where Nightmare of You was playing with Heat Automatica.

WAIT... let me interject this for a second...

SXSW was super fucking emo this year. It was like the MySpace SXSW. Plus, nearly every band down there is already signed to East/West via Atlantic via Warners... as an A&R person, I was like, well, this might be a waste of time. Sure, I had a pass to see a bunch of bands that I normally don't get to see, but the lines to every venue were so long. I'm just another jerk with a badge, amongst hundreds, I'm not patient enough to wait in line for a show i'll be too short to see... But I can just go see the bands in New York, since they all come up here anyway, get a ticket and find the spots in the venue where I can see (figured them all out). Regardless, I love SXSW and will probably go back every year.

So... I'm at this pure volume party with Gurj, Nick the intern, sasha the intern, my buddy Casey, NOY, and a bunch of other friends. NOY played a great set, which was a relief since Brandon had a stomach virus just a few days before. I had a genuinely awesome time. So many friends were there that I don't normally get to see in one place. Great. Rah Rah! I'm stoked cause tomorrow they'll all be at my stolen transmission party!! woooo.

So I go home early so i'm not too tired to be on a SXSW panel, and have tons of energy for my party, when at 7am, I ran out of bed and made a b-line for the bathroom where i proceeded to puke for the next five hours. Eventually, I managed to pick myself up, get dressed, and head out to the convention center for my panel despite Gurj and Brandon begging me not to. I couldnt look or be touched by anyone for fear of upchucking right at their feet. I rode the cab over praying to god that i would be ok and not puke, holding tightly to the plastic bag in my hand. I made it to the convention center very late. I couldn't help it, I was puking when I was supposed to be there. I walked in on my panel and apologized for being late, and saying i was sick. 10 minutes into taking my seat on stage and attempting as much as i could to participate, I excused myself and ran to the bathroom for another puke episode. I ran back for my purse and ran out of the center looking for a cab. I jumped towards a taxi that was stopping and inside was my Josh Madden and John Fewell. I motioned them out and jumped in, hardly saying a word. I made it back to hotel room, grabbed another bag and puked in it. I then repositioned myself in a hugging position with the toilet.

A few hours later, it was party time. I had been attempting to get shit done from my hotel bed, but talking was so hard. typing on my kick was so hard. People were calling looking for me and not understanding why I wasn't there yet. When I finally arrived, I called Brandon to meet me outside the Redbull house to help me with the boxes i brought. he came out and I guess i looked like shit, casue he looked stressed. I walked into the house, collapsed on to a bean bag chair and started crying about the pain i was in and my dehydration. Brandon brought me a water and took me to the band's van to lay down where he kept an eye on me. The van needed to be moved, so it was moved, and so I puked into a brown paper bag that immediately started leaking before I could throw it out the door... brandon keeping his hands cupped under the bag, catching the puke so it wouldn't get all over the van. I jumped out and started puking. Brandon sat me down and ran into the venue to get Alex and Gurj to let them know he was taking me back to the hotel to lay down. Alex knew I was sick, but when he found me, I don't think he expected me to be that sick. I was a hazy shade of green. He begged me to go back to the hotel even though i was insisting that i shouldnt. I told them what needed to be done, and Brandon and I went looking for a cab.

We tried to hail a cab for a bit, and nearly gave up. Finally a van cab pulled up, rolled down the window and asked brandon where he was from. When brandon said new york city, he said we could come in. This was so surreal... the van had all the chairs taken out except for the last two. Then in the center of the van was a fucking fruit plate with cheese and crackers and surrounded by bottles of fanta. We thought we got into the wrong cab... i guess thinking it'd be one of those reality tv show vans. The driver assured us that wasn't the case. Brandon let him know i was really ill, and I put my head down. The driver proceeded to talk the entire time, making the need to puke, that much more intense. When I finally got to the hotel, I laid down to sleep until Brandon's friend picked us up from the hotel a half hour before brandon was due on stage. Meanwhile, Alex, Gurj, Sasha and Nick had totally taken care of absolutely everything that needed ot be taken care of. Not only that, but they all appeared to be having a great time. I couldn't thank those people enough. They are absolutely true friends in addition to excellent team members. They took care of absolutley everything. I love them all soo much, you have no idea.

As I got there, I told people not to talk to me or touch me for fear of puking, but after a while I started to feel better and I started to drink soda without puking. I attempted to climb on stage to announce NOY and fell flat on my face, making people fear I passed out. I was ok, but bruised up. I attempted to participate in the fun but I was too sick to. I watched bits of all the bands, they were all amazing and Lady Sov was a total midget (she calls me midget and I guess she can cos i'm an inch shorter... much to her dismay), and then went straight to the hotel. Soon later brandon came back right after his second show to take care of my sick body, and took care of me for the next day and a half, basically forfitting going to any shows. He is the bestfriend ever. But I also guess he felt guilty about getting me sick, ha!

So... this was what my trip was like. Totally un-fun. Completely uneventful. I heard my party was really fun. Apparently people were trying to jump the fence to get in, there was a line two blocks long, owen and luke wilson were there and so was elijah wood? Tons of folk... cept for me... at my own party. Oy Va Voy. You can see photos on StolenTransmission.com and clicking here.

So that was it... my experience. Bum out dude, huh?

ACES TAKE YOUR TIME

Nightmare of You are on tour down south with She Wants Revenge and I just got an idea that stokes me the fuck out...

Fucking, Nightmare of You should cover Placebo's motherfucking "Spite & Malice" since Justin Warfield of SWR is the dude rapping on the Placebo track (from the black market music album).

when i first got that album i listened to that song about 302 times in a row and learned how to do the rap and i was stoked beyond belief to find out that the dude from she wants revenge is the dude that was the rapper in that song. after that placebo album came out, justin's rap thing called Tape was shopping their works to labels and i was soooo bummed that i missed their showcase at cbgbs... and holy shit, i can't believe that i actually remember all that information.

i'm gonna post a sxsw update shortly. it's not gonna be that impressive since i caught a stomach virus and was bedridden for a couple of days. the experience confirmed my beliefs that my boyfriend is fucking awesome and made the most amazing nurse a puking girl could ask for.

not to mention the best interns, the best roommates, the best dudes working with me. yay!

LA TI DUH

I'm leaving today for Austin, Texass. I can't fucking wait, obviously. I'm sharing a hotel room with my most adorably fabulous roommate, Gurj, possibly my other roommate Josh (so funny that he's now living in Apt 3A.... I wake up most mornings to him blasting hip hop and Good Charlotte demos, it's hilarious), and my other roommate, Brandon. I predict non-stop laughing for four days straight.

Anyway, I wont be updating this blog for a couple of days, I think. Though, who knows... between me and Gurj, there will definitely be some blog updating going on.

So i'm going to leave you with a topic to discuss:

Muse. Are they this generation's Nine Inch Nails? Radiohead?

It's funny, these days when i hear my friends in bands discuss the weird musical directions of their peers, it's usually matched with "they're trying to be Muse." When I was at SPIN, I used to nearly get tossed out of meetings for mentioning that band's name... but have they secretly become influencial?

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS

Come to this.

On a totally unrelated note: for those of us who have super damaged hair from over-dying and over-styling, there's this hair stuff my mom bought me that did the trick in fixing my fried ends in only one use and in only 5 minutes! It's called Salerm. It comes in a little tub and looks like diarreah, but works like a charm. My mom managed to find it in the Black hair product place on Clinton Street for a pretty reasonable price (i think under $20), and I swear by this. I'm so happy with the results. That's all.

If you have any SXSW flyers to share, please send them to sarah.lewitinn@umusic.com

thanks!

SHE'S LOST CONTROL AGAIN

Holy shit! I was just on the Joy Division MySpace page randomly and found out that I was in Joy Division's TOP 8!!!!

Also, in regards to the discussion from yesterday, something i want to point out to people is this:

A lot of people say that there is no way that MCR has the same cultural impact as Nirvana. While this might seem/be true, i'd like to remind a lot of those people writing that the following: Nirvana probably seemed like they made a larger cultural impact because you were LIVING it. You were a teenager or perhaps a bit older, and to you, nirvana was probably your life... which is what MCR is to the kids. Lord knows all I could think about was Nirvana when I was a teenager. It drove my parents up the wall. But in my school, the kids that felt the same way I did were few and far between in relation to the kids who were into Phish, DMB, the Dead, and hip hop.

Emo is the new Angst.
I WEAR THIS ON MY SLEEVE

HOW VERY KOSHER

... and very cute.

HOW TO LOSE FRIENDS AND ALIENATE PEOPLE... OVER THE AGE OF 30

My friend Vanessa was interviewing me last night for a school assignment and one of the things she asked me about was music journalism.

That's always a weird topic for me to cover because I've never really considered myself an orthodox music journalist (and i'm sure that nobody who has ever read any of my writings has either). One thing I felt strongly about was this:

Most music journalists have no clue whatsoever what kids like. They're 35 year old men writing for other 35 year old men who think they're actually writing to 21 year old college kids.

The idea that My Chemical Romance is this generation's Nirvana is ridiculous to them. It's probably ridiculous to most of the people who read this blog, but to the average 16 year old kid, Nirvana is irrelevant in comparison to My Chem.

Don't believe me? Go to myspace. The 3rd most search topic is My Chemical Romance. Myspace is the place where teenagers are hanging out and spending all their time, trying to meet other people like themselves. It's where many people live their life.

I find it incredibly hard to imagine that the average 35 year old rock journo can relate to MCR. But you know, it's not for them to understand or relate to. It's for them to accept, and until they do, they will be absolutely irrelevant to anyone who matters.

I'd like to end this post with bidding farewell to the thousands of readers I've just lost as a result of this posting. BYE BYE.

THE NEW FRIDAY SPOT

This was the first friday night where I didn't HAVE to be at Orchard Bar. It was my full intention to go, though, right after Tasting Chaos, as a way to celebrate signing Monty. But it was freezing outside, and when I called the Orchard Bar to let them know I was running 20-people deep and I was told "it's dangerously packed in here" i decided to stay home with my buddies, get some food, booze, and tunes... and party. As an homage to Misshapes, we posed infront of Gurj's purple wall... Justin from Monty made a collage... hahaha:

MORE HOT FUSS

The Killers just put up a new website and it's fucking awesome. Really, really, really cool and serene, and there are a bunch of new photos as well.

And yes, before anyone has a chance to say it... I am a corporate schill because I'm writing about the killers. BECAUSE I WASNT WRITING ABOUT THEM FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS, ONLY NOW THAT I'M WORKING WITH THEIR LABEL.
NU NEW GNEU

New stuff to report...

Well, first off, dont forget this hot fuss:

AND...

For music i pay to be made... The oohlas have a new song on their myspace page! It's called "Snow Shoes" and it's from their debut album that will be out August 1.

AP BITCHES!

I don't like reading. Infact, I hate it. Words make me dizzy. I don't even read text heavy blogs... only the ones with lots of photos.

That said, I really like reading Alternative Press... and even more so now that they wrote about TWO OF MY BANDS in their BANDS YOU NEED TO KNOW ISSUE (starring my friend Alicia's band From First to Last).

HEY JORDANA, I LIKE THE NEW STROKES A LOT!

OK, i just uploaded photos from the last Stolen Transmission. They're basically JUST from the DJ booth since I cant really move around places while I'm DJing.

So check it out... This thursday is the first night that we're doing Stolen Transmission at the Annex. No more Orchard bar... we loved the venue, but we needed a bigger place and somewhere that we could have live bands play! That's what we're doing this thursday! Yay! And we're also hosting Matt Rubano's birthday party. You might know him from his band Like Yesterday, or Taking Back Sunday... either way, i've got a very good feel about this.

OK, so for those of you who come to ST, thursdays at the Annex from now on, bring a camera. take photos. and you'll be able to submit them to the stolen transmission website (once it's up at the end of this week) photo gallery! fun times.
PRETTY PRETTY

I've been scouring myspace a bunch lately, looking at people's profiles (i think it's called lurking), and trying to figure out ways to bite off people's style.

I came across this one website which makes me want to express every last bit of my girlishness x1000. Lime Crime. Click on "fashion" and then "make up tutorials" and learn how to make really fucking crazy makeup looks for special occasions. I love it.

COUGH COUGH

I think I've got the black lung. All weekend long, I've spent my mornings, afternoons, and evenings coughing up a storm. My days working in a coal mine are far behind me, so I assumed it was a cold finding its way to me, or even worse, a flu. Alex and Eric over at stolen transmission have both been afflicted with the delightful flu, so it was only a matter of time before it was my turn. Each year i get the flu about twice a season, and somehow I managed to avoid it up until now... and catching it early would be my only line of defense. So i stayed in, bundled up by the heater, and my aching limbs are gonna make it through! No full on flu! No!

While sick, I've been watching Fuse for the past couple hours... How many times will I see a Hawthorne Height's commercial? probably about 10 times an hour.

But thankfully, people have been nice enough to hit me up with awesome links all day:

Sasha the intern sent me this link of cute animals. The hippo/tortoise link is worth everything in the world.

I found talking cats on there... wow.

Remember that Fallout Boy stick figure thing? Gurj sent me one that is of Brand New's "The Quiet Things No One Ever Knows" that might actually top it... well, if you're a Brand New fan.. or maybe not. give it a shot. All i know is that i laughed so hard, i went into convulsions.

Also, my friend Brian Montuori is one of my most favorite friends. He's involved in the artworld and every once in a while he'll give me an amazing portrait of like, Neil Diamond, where his pubic hair is neil's chest hair... or enrich my life with new information about the very bizarre sex acts of extreme gays that he learns when talking to other artists (for instance... some get their nutsack skin replaced with clear material so they can see their balls retract when they cum). Anyway, there's this show that Brian told me about where this this guy in his mid 40's found this teenage girl named lindsey on myspace and became obsessed with her and made a show of huge paintings based on the photos in her profile. You can see these massive paintings for yourself. More info here.

While we're on the topic of Brian Montuori and myspace (you can see him on My MySpace page reading a porno mag... add me as a friend!), i think now would be as good of a time as any to repost one of those questionnaires that he filled out for MySpace. Anytime I need a laugh, I read it... cause I saved it. It was that funny:

A MASSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT

For the past few months, the Tarts of Pleasure have truly enjoyed throwing Stolen Transmission at the Orchard Bar on Friday nights.

But the party got too big and people started getting turned away, and that made us sad. So we decided TO MOVE IT!

It will now be ON THURSDAY NIGHTS! at THE ANNEX (Orchard btw Rivington and Stanton)

Thursdays are the new Fridays anyway.

So this friday is THE LAST EVER TARTS OF PLESURE HOSTED EVENING AT THE ORCHARD BAR

come dance.

Tonight, Karen and I will be DJing at the Annex for a little test run. Come by and say hi.

GATHERATION!

Details for the Stolen Transmission SXSW house party are still forthcoming (all is confirmed, but you know, until the ink dries on agreements, i can't really divulge tooo much). However, I can tell you that it's on FRIDAY, MARCH 17 and WHO is playing and let you know HOW you'll be able to get in.

Line up:
Damone
Lady Sovereign
Boy Kill Boy
Nightmare Of You
The Bronx

You'll be able to sign up starting on March 3 from the Stolen Transmission website which should be launching on that date. If it doesnt launch that date, then you'll have to wait a minute. Everyone can come, but you need to sign up and you need to be 21 or over cause there will be booze.

The heart isn't part of our logo (the ST lightning bolt is tho)... but i think it's something I made because I think I listen to too much My Chemical Romance sometimes:

THIS IS DISGUSTINGLY...

ADORABLE!

My new roommate, Josh, sent me a link of a group called The Sandlot, which he tells me is a brother and his five year old brother singing and writing songs together.

My favorite song by them, "Purpose", had me squealing a little bit in my chair.

I think that between the Sandlot boy, Life With an Astronaut's Dakota, and the japanese kids playing xylophones, my body might be telling me it's time to have little munchkins of my own.

I hope that they look like this:
